I am a 40-year-old single mother.I have 2 beautiful children who I love dearly.Laura is 5 1/2years old and Chip is 3 1/2 years old.My goals for them include health, happiness, education, well-rounded experiences and lots and lots of love and laughter.I leave for work at 5:30 am.Laura will attend school 5 days a week in the fall.Chip attends pre school 4 days a week for 3 hours a day.They both require assistance with getting dressed and eating breakfast before school.You will be responsible for transportation for at least one of the children to and from school.On days that the children are out of school you are encouraged to suggest age-appropriate activities.You can take them to local attractions if you are comfortable doing so.Meal times are pretty standard: breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.I am home in time for dinner and evening snack.I prepare the meals ahead of time so that they only need to be heated and served to the children.Our home is just minutes away from downtown Baltimore, the Baltimore-Washington international Airport and several train stations.It is very accessible to Washington, D.C, which is about 30 miles away.I live in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors.I have a 3-story house with a fenced yard.The yard has a swing set and sand box to keep the children entertained in nice weather.The basement has an entertainment center, a computer and art centers for the children.The first level has the kitchen, formal dining room, living room and family room.The upstairs has 4 bedrooms.I keep a neat, clean home and expect that the au pair would do the same.I wish to have an au pair for several reasons.I feel that it is important to have in-home care to allow the children to get individual attention in a familiar environment.I find it best to have in-home care while I am working outside the home.I am interested in an au pair in order to learn about other cultures and customs and would like to expose my children to people from other nations.I would like the children to have an experienced caregiver who has the energy, dedication and enthusiasm that an au pair would have.I had a fabulous experience with my first au pair.It was a great experience for all of us.
