Au Pair/Boston.

Dear Au Pair, Welcome to America and to our home.We are thrilled that you are considering a year in our family.We want you to feel comfortable and happy during your stay so we thought a few details might help acquaint you with our American life.We have 3 children -Todd (7), Lynn (5) and Thorn (age 2 Months) .They are adventurous, active curious kid, (not sure about the 2 month old yet).They love playing outside on the swings, climbing the jungle gym, riding their bikes, building forts, running races, playing soccer, etc.inside they like cooking, dancing, doing puzzles, art projects, playing with legos, playing "make believe".The basic rule of thumb is they'll try anything once.Todd is an active boy.He is on the go most of the day, asks lots of questions and wants to be included in everything.He is curious and has an active imagination as well as being sympathetic with other people. Lynn is also curious but in a less demanding way.She loves playing dress-up and could spend hours drawing, painting or listen to music.She can be extremely silly.She enjoys projects such as cooking or journal writing and is currently interested in all dolls and all things Chinese.Thorn will be approx 6 months when you arrive and will most likely be crawling and moving around by then.I work part time from home for Sesame Workshop.Each day I spend about 2-4 hours on the computer and/or telephone on my various projects.Occasionally I have to travel to travel to New York.Our apartment in Boston has 3 bedrooms and is right downtown.From our apartment it is a 5-minute walk to the subway and buses. The "big" kids are in school 5 days/week from 7:30 until 4.Lynn has one short day Tuesdays when she gets out at 2PM.Todd takes the buss to and from school and takes the bus in the morning and most afternoons (except the short day).Part of your responsibilities will be to pick and drop the kids off at their respective bus stops (which are 5 minutes from each other).Most of the time this will be walking but sometimes you will drive our car. As our au pair you will have your own room and bathroom in the apartment and the house in CT.Our experience with au pairs has been excellent.We are honored to host another au pair in our home and look forward to the exchange ideas and customs that an au pair situation affords.We believe it is Fundamental to the education of our children that they understand and appreciate people of all cultures.
