Au Pair/Bryan Mawr, Pennsylvania

Dear Prospective Au Pair, I am sure you are reading a lot of these different stories of families and lifestyles.But you are probably feeling much like we do, in terms of trying to find the right fit.It can be very overwhelming to find the right match without ever meeting someone in person.This will be our 3 rd au pair.I guess it is best for me to start by describing our family.First, are our children, Jane and Mel.Jane is an 8 year old girl in 3 rd grade this year.She is very much a "girly" girl.She signs up for sports because she likes the outfits, if you know what I mean.She has a great sense of humor and is very independent.She loves creative activities, swimming and reading.Mel is a 9 month old baby girl. Higgins a little white Maltese (3 pounds).We obviously love animals in this household.We also have a turtle in a tank named Groovy.An au pair who chooses our family MUST love dogs and be comfortable around big dogs. Our house is a good size and we also have a decent amount of property so everyone has plenty of space.Our house is 5 bedrooms, 3 and a half baths.The au pair has its own room and bathroom that are separate from the families.The au pair also has its own car to drive at all times, as well as access to driving the family car to take the girls around.Jane is in school from Sept.through May from 8 am until 3:30 pm Monday to Friday.She also attends camp in the summer.Mel is generally with the au pair 8-6 or 9-6 Monday thru Friday. Dan has his own accounting business that takes him out of the house on average 20 hours a week.He is very present in the home.I on the other hand travel 3 days a week with my job and work out of the house roughly 2 days a week.I work for M.A.C Cosmetics.I am the Field Director for Sales & Artist Training for the Northeast United States.It is a great company to work for, and I have been with them for 8 years. l think the most important things we are looking for in an au pair are the following; someone who truly loves spending time playing with kids, not just babysitting; someone who is looking to be a part of the household but also looking to have a separate life and friends while they are here.We do not expect the au pair to hang out with our family when they are off.They are always welcome to be around but it is not an obligation.We want our au pair to have their own life as well and make the most of their experience while they are here in the US.There is so much more to say, but I feel that is best left for conversation.Thank you for considering our family.Tillträde: Hösten -08 Fri resa och sjukförsäkring ingår (värde 5800:-) om du har en komplett ansökan före den 31 juli 2008.Gäller vid avresa till USA under 2008.Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
