Au Pair/Burlingame, CA

We live in a family-friendly neighborhood, where there are plenty of kids for the boys to play with and neighbors who are happy to help out in any emergency.It is located in a pretty suburban town called Burlingame, about 15 miles south of San Francisco.Burlingame has good local shopping and restaurants in a very European downtown shopping district.It also has plenty of parks, a very good recreation center, a cinema and public transport to downtown San Francisco by train and the Bay Area Rapid Transport (BART) train.We live near a very good health club with an outdoor pool, tennis and racket ball courts, exercise classes, a gym and a sauna.Our family is a member and our membership also includes our au pair.If you like swimming, tennis, aerobics or any other types of athletic activity you'll find that there is plenty for you to do here.Weekday life is fairly busy for the family.Both boys are in school five days a week.Andrew's hours are 8:30am to 3:00pm and Logan's hours are 8:30am until 2:00pm.Our au pair is expected to help get the kids ready for school in the mornings.This just involves driving the kids to school to get them there on time, so our au pair needs to be able to drive.Between school drop-off and pick up times the au pair's time will be its own in which you may attend classes or do whatever else you wishes.We believe that having an au pair in our home should be a great experience for both the au pair and ourselves.We are a bi-cultural family-American and English.The parents have the advantage of having a very international outlook and would like their children to have a similar appreciation of other cultures and viewpoints.From the au pairs perspective, the parents have a good understanding of what the au pair may find strange in a new country and will be able to guide you through any difficulties and show you the cultural richness and diversity of the wonderful San Francisco Bay Area.
