Au Pair/Catonsville, MD

We were first introduced to the au pair form of childcare by good friends who have used them for several years.Like our friends, we are busy professionals (Kareen is a doctor specializing in emergency medicine and Laurie is an engineer). Nadia is almost 5 years old and the previous 5 years with au pairs has been a great experience.Having an au pair is wonderful.It provides us with the flexible childcare we need, and is an enriching experience for us.In return for providing what we hope would be an outstanding cultural experience to the au pair and hopefully having the au pair feel like a member of the family, we would hope that the au pair would be honest, trustworthy, and fun.We also hope the au pair would enrich our lives with its culture and customs.We live in Catonsville, Maryland, which is about a 10-minute drive from Baltimore.We have a large suite with a private bath in our house for the au pair.Catonsville is a friendly town with safe streets, parks, a swimming pool (which we are members), and walking distance to local shops.If also has two colleges about a mile from our house.We live in a beautiful neighbourhood with large houses and yards.The neighbourhood is great for riding bikes, walking, roller blading, or jogging.Baltimore is a cosmopolitan city with museums, nightclubs, professional sports teams and several colleges.We enjoy travelling a lot.We particularly like the ocean and most of our vacations combine travelling and the beach.Two or our favourite annual vacations include a winter trip to St Barths in the French West Indies and a late summer trip to beaches on the Atlantic Ocean.We also enjoy day trips to the beach, about 2 hours away, as well as weekends in Virginia Beach, where we have close friends.
