Au Pair/Chevy Chase, Maryland

We are the Hudson family living in Chevy Chase, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC.Bernard and Anika have been married for 15 years and have three children.Dawn (age 12), Clare (9) and Pam (6).Bernard is from Ohio originally and is an electrical engineer by education and training. Anika is originally from Maine and has a long background in defense and foreign policy issues.Anika's favorite hobby is singing and she does that fairly often at church.Otherwise she is involved in various school, church and community endeavors.Anika has been working par time (about 3 days a week) since Clare was born. These are outings everyone enjoys whenever we can fit it into the schedule.All three children are academically gifted, but they still have to work hard.Driving skills are also very important.Washington DC traffic is famous and not for the faint-hearted (although we know all the shortcuts and there are many ways to avoid the more nerve-wracking highways). Dawn is 12 and in 6th grade.He is very talkative and loves adults and is aided by the vocabulary of a 40 year-old.He has struggled with some attention and learning challenges.His school is very cooperative and we feel grateful that he has gotten the help he has needed.He is now an excellent student. Clare is a little pistol- small in body, but not in spirit.She is pretty intense and competitive, but has a soft side as well.9 years old and in 4th grade.Clare is the soccer player in the family, but loves art and music as well.She is a very good student and HATES to miss the bus so she is very good about getting ready in the morning. Pam is six years old and in 1st grade, is independent, easy-going and loving.Pam is sweet, friendly and generally even-tempered.She often acts as the peacemaker between Dawn and Clare.She can be a rascal sometimes, but she does it with such a smile that makes it hard to get mad. The au pair would be responsible for the children's laundry, helping to ensure that the children's rooms are picked and their stuff around the house get put away, changing the children's beds and serving and cleaning up from their meals (mostly breakfast).Sundays and Friday mornings would be "off duty" times.We look forward to finding the perfect match and sharing our home with an au pair.Tillträde: Sommaren -07 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Inga kostnader för flyg om du arbetar ett år som au pair.Visum för 13 månader.Försäkring ingår.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
