Au Pair/Chicago, IL

Arbetsbeskrivning

Hi!Welcome to our family! We like to think of ourselves as a fun family, and any of our past Au Pairs would tell you that you need a sense of humor to survive in our house! It is also important for you to know that we are Jewish. We don't want to make it seem as though we are extremely religious, because we are not - we do not keep a kosher house or have any dietary restrictions - however we do celebrate the major Jewish holidays. All of our Au Pairs have found this aspect of our lives to be very interesting, and have learned a little something about Jewish traditions in their year with us.During your year with our family, our daughter will be studying for, and celebrating, her bat mitzvah, which is a major milestone in the Jewish religion. This will be a very important and special day for our family, and we are already planning a MAJOR party!Kayla is our younger daughter. She is 7, and she's funny, loving, smart, athletic and very artistic. In September, she will be in 2nd Grade. Her favorite things to do are play soccer, basketball and roller blade.Sarah and Kayla attend the same school, and their school day goes from 8:40 am until 2:30 pm.almost every day after school, both girls have activities. When they don't have after-school activities, they like to have play dates with their friends, or simply hang out with each other and their Au Pair. The newest member of our family is our dog, Bandit. He is a sweet medium-sized mutt.We all love him so much, and we are so happy to have him in our family. We also have a 19 year-old cat, Nicki. She's a graceful old girl who spends her days in our bedroom and bathroom. Our house is in a lovely neighborhood just 3 miles away from Chicago's downtown area. The area is filled with young people, Au Pairs, students, etc.Our house is close to parks, shopping, restaurants, universities, dance clubs, live music venues, museums, movie theatres and bars.Chicago is a great city to be an Au Pair because it has everything you could want, plus it's friendlier, cleaner, quieter and easier to get around than most American cities. You don't need a car to get around because the public transportation is excellent, inexpensive and safe. However, you will have access to my car in order to take the kids to places that are out of walking distance. You will be our 12th Au Pair, and we look forward to meeting you and helping make this a very special year for you. We've had lots of great experiences with our Au Pairs and most of them are still dear friends of the family.I'm sure you will be, too!Tillträde: Vintern -08/09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
