Au Pair/Cortlandt Manor, New York

Arbetsbeskrivning

Hello! We are the O'neal Family -Dad -Tim, Mom -Lisbeth, big sister- Clara; and little sister -Meg.Here are some words I would use to describe out family -FRIENDLY, WARM, CARING, BUSY, ACTIVE, CLOSE -and very grateful for all we have and mostly for each other! She is truly a ray of sunshine!Clara is sweet, very smart, popular and outgoing with many good friends, yet she is respectful and well behaved. She is a sensitive girl and tends to be a perfectionist. She cares a great deal about other people's feelings. Meg is our younger daughter and will be 7 years old on July 15th (I can't believe it!) Meg is a real cutie!Everyone loves Meg and quickly gets attached to her.Meg can be very out-going with strangers, but sometimes she is shy and takes time to warm up to people.Meg has a great sense of humor and we laugh a lot with some of the things Meg says and does. Tim is a Psychotherapist and works at a school in NYC helping Special Education children. He also has a private practice of patients in NYC and at our home.I work for a cosmetic company as a Director of Customer Service for our web sites.I spend 4 days a week in NYC and 1 day a week in a home office. Now a little about our town, We live in a suburban town in New York State called Cortlandt Manor, which is 1 hour by train to New York City.We love our town because it is quiet, has beautiful scenery with lakes and hills and deer that come to the front door, yet we are so close to all the wonderful things that NYC has to offer-museums, theatre, and shopping. If you like outdoors activities, there are pools, bike paths, roller-blade parks and regular parks all nearby. If however you like more of a city environment, the greatest city in the world is 1 hour away.We have a contemporary, modern 5 bedroom home (including a finished lower basement with private bed, bathroom and living area for our nanny/Au Pair). While it may not be a mansion, most people would say it's a very nice house and has all the comforts of home.I think mutual respect, good communication and fairness on both parts is essential.Since we are so busy during the week, it's important to have private time as a family. This gives our Au Pair time on the weekends to be with their friends and enjoy activities around town and in NYC.Your are free to study, go places with the car or on the train and do as you please on the weekends and in the evenings. We look forward to welcoming a new Au Pair to our home and sharing our experiences of a typical American family-mixed in with some fun and laughs of course!
