I am a single mother of 17-month-old twin girls, Sue and Lois.They are completely different, both in appearance and personality, and are very pleasant, loving little girls.We spend most of our time together singing, dancing, playing, and being really silly.From what I'm told, they smile and laugh more than your average 17 month olds.They're very active and independent.Both were walking steadily at 9 and 10 months.Today, they are running at about 90 miles an hour.Last year, I moved the 3 of us to a tree-lined street in the town I always wanted to live in.It's a beautiful, historic borough in southern California where everything is within walking distance.Professionally, I am a fully commissioned sales person.I can work as much or as little as I need to, and I make my own hours (for the most part).The more I work, the more I can achieve my goal of providing a good life for my girls.I love my job.I've been with my employer for 10 years and I'm not even slightly tired of it.Every day is new challenge.Every week is the same for us.Monday through Friday we go to day care at 9:00 am and come home at 6:00 pm.Evenings and weekends can be hard on me at times because I'm alone.I don't have the freedom to run out for milk if 1'm low and I can't start my normal chores until the girls go to bed at 7:30 - 5:00.By 9:00, I'm down for the count ...and start up again at 6:30 am.There are so many reasons why I'd like to have an au pair.It would save over an hour in the morning getting them dressed and lunches packed and another half hour of driving time.The au pair that will work the best for us is one who is fun loving and creative.Sue and Lois are both eager to learn and enjoy the interaction while learning new things.I have an in-ground pool and our au pair must be a strong swimmer.
