Au Pair/Glencoe, Illinois

Our family lives in the village of Glencoe, Illinois which is approximately 22 miles from downtown Chicago.The town has about 8500 people, which is considered quite small and intimate.Our house is located in the central part of the village; you can easily walk to town, the park, or even the lake and beach.There are many quaint shops, coffee bars, and eateries in town.There are always many Au Pairs from around the world who are staying with other families in Glencoe. Let me tell you about our family.Kylan is 18 years old and truly an adolescent boy but not a troublemaker.He is very independent and comes and goes on his own.He is in his last year of high school and is currently preparing his applications for college admission next September.Gabriele is 15 years old.She has just begun high school and seems to be very happy.She worked very hard to make the Tennis Team at school.She enjoys playing tennis and is doing very well competing against the other local high schools.Gabriele enjoys her friends and likes being very social.She loves going to the mall, movies, or listening to music. I retired from the hospital where I had worked for almost 25 years.I initially started out as a social worker helping disabled patients with the emotional adjustment to their disabilities.I moved into Hospital Administration performing many different jobs over the years. We live in a very nice large house that was recently renovated.There is a private bedroom and bathroom on the 2nd floor for the Au pair.It is off in a separate area from the rest of the family's bedrooms.This allows for privacy for both the Au Pair and the rest of the family.It is a small, cozy room with a TV and a telephone.There is a computer available in the room next to it, which is available for e-mailing or other work, which needs to be done by anyone in the family who needs a computer.
