Au Pair/Great Falls, Virginia

We would like to apply for an au pair to begin in the near future.This will be our second Au Pair, although we have known many au pairs through the years through friends and our children's' friends.We have a regular cleaning service, which we are happy with and will keep.We are a family of five, living in Great Falls, Virginia, a beautiful residential area about 20 miles outside of Washington, D.C.My husband, Fred is a physician and is Chairman of the Pathology Department of the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va.I work out of the home, part time, helping him.I am very involved with the children's' schools.Our older daughter, Marianne, is 11.She is sweet, vivacious, enthusiastic and very loving. Marianne has special dietary needs - she has celiac sprue, which is an autoimmune disease, which is triggered by wheat.Many many many foods contain wheat (and barely and oats), so we have to pay close attention.We are knowledgeable and we will teach our au pair what she needs to know.Marianne is completely responsible about following her diet.Nathan and Elana are our twins and will be 6 on November 20.They are adorable, sweet, and great little kids.They are shy and will take a while to warm up so our au pair will need to have a positive attitude and be patient for the first couple of weeks (and not take their shyness personally).They need a person who is sweet, smart, gentle but firm, patient, and fun.They have really loved our Au pairs so far.They are in junior kindergarten at a private school in McLean, Va.(about 20 minutes away).They go from 7:50am to 10:50 am every day.Elana takes ballet once a week and the two of them have regular play dates with their friends.We usually take a vacation in September, for about 10 days, and perhaps a couple of other short trips during the year (to New York, Williamsburg, etc.I am contemplating a trip to Italy in the spring or summer with the children; I love to travel!Thank you and take care!Best wishes, Hi, forgot to include in my statement that the au pair will have its own room in the basement, a large walk out basement that has an exercise room and a large main room which we use a play area.You will have your own phone line for local calls and can use a calling card (much cheaper that way), and a t.v.with cable.We can hook up a high-speed Internet connection for you, too, if you would like (who wouldn't, in this day and age), and we could came up with a computer for you if you does not have one.Thanks and please let me know if I left anything out.
