Au Pair/Hartsdale, NY.

Our family consists of two working parents and two young boys.They both attend the same local elementary school.They both take piano lessons and Nicky also takes drum lessons.We live in a five-bedroom house on a half-acre of land in suburban Hartsdale, New York, a 35-40 minute train ride to the city.The house is walking distance from the train station (about 8 minutes downhill and 13 minutes uphill) and from the small village of Hartsdale.The specific area where live is Edgemont, an area with its own school system and community.We expect the au pair to help us get the boys out the door in the morning (prepare lunch, help with breakfast), but we usually take care of the boy's post-dinner evening routines.While it may happen that the au pair may help deliver a forgotten trumpet or library book to school sometimes, most of her work is in the afternoon and early evening hours, as both boys are in school until 3:00.On weekends we usually try to spend our time together as a family.Often sports are scheduled on Saturday (fall is focused an soccer and football, winter is basketball, and spring is baseball).Sometimes we get to just hang out around the house, or go to a playground to run around, play baseball, basketball, soccer, or ride bicycles.In the winter we sometimes go skiing, or sledding.Occasionally we take short hikes.We all share in general house duties, like making sure that the dishes are clean and that the garbage is out.While also ask the Au Pair to help keep the boys' rooms neat, but not to do general house cleaning, as we have someone come in to do this on a weekly basis.While I am often in the house, I am often working in our office upstairs and therefore not wholly available.It is difficult to anticipate all our needs, but they certainly involve picking the boys up from school (a 10 minute drive from the house), arranging play dates, giving snacks, helping to pace their day so there is quiet time between activities and time to focus on homework or piano lessons.The local Town of Greenburgh and Edgemont itself has excellent public recreational facilities (swimming pools and tennis courts) and a local nature center.There is also a fine public library system.Various colleges are nearby and New York City is only a half-hour away.We look forward to welcoming another au pair.Tillträde: Hösten -06 Ålder: 18 - 26 år.
