To our prospective au pair, Hi!To begin with, let me introduce the members of my family.We live in Irvington, a beautiful village on the Hudson River, which is 50 minutes by train from Manhattan.Irvington is one of the "river towns" which are a series of small towns dotted along the Hudson River, all within minutes of each other by car.Each of the river towns has cafes, a library, shops and parks and further education institutions.There are many walking/biking trails and several large shopping malls in the vicinity.In addition, there is a large and active community of au pairs living in the general area.Helen has the busiest schedule largely because of her music activities.She plays the violin, both privately and at school, and she is a member of a local singing choir.She is also a girl scout.Helen is a sociable girl and likes to play with her friends when she can.Simon is more of a dreamer with a highly developed imagination.They both have strong and distinct personalities.Simon loves to read and has a sophisticated vocabulary.They are very close, but in the normal way of siblings they also have disputes over small things.They are both quick-witted, strong personalities and they will respond best to someone who is also strong.They respond especially well to people with imagination and a sense of fun.They are attractive, caring and generally respectful children.I value friendliness, honesty, responsibility, considerate behavior and a general sense of co-operation.I hope that the au pair who comes to live with us will be independent, grasps the opportunity of experiencing New York and has fun.We will welcome you as part of the family, but my privacy and personal space are also important to me, and I would appreciate sensitivity in that area and a truly independent spirit.I am even-tempered and courteous and would expect the same from the au pair.I would like you to have a flexible attitude, and be accommodating to my schedule and the school schedule as long as it doesn't conflict with your education.A team spirit would be a great bonus!Our home is relaxed and informal, your friends will be welcome to visit, especially if they are considerate and respectful.I will be depending on you for my peace of mind and my children's safety, but beyond that, your time will be completely your own and you will be free to live it the way you want to.Tillträde: Hösten Ålder: 18 - 26 år.
