Barry and I are both engineers and received our Bachelors of Science Degrees from Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame, respectively.Barry works for the US Army Corps of Engineers and has been there since November 2001.He is in a project management position and spends most of his time managing and creating budgets for large projects in his department.The Army Corps is the main branch of the US Government that designs, constructs, and maintains water containment structures such as dams, levies, dikes, etc.throughout the US.We are a very active family that has a lot of fun together.We spend a lot of hours on the weekends watching our children play sports.In the summer, our family loves to be outside, and we especially love to be around water.We also like to take bike rides or walks together or roller blade in the neighbourhood.In the winter when it is too cold to be outside, we enjoy playing board games or doing arts-n-crafts together.All of our children are social.They love to talk with people and are seldom shy when they first meet someone.The three of them all do well in their classes.Samantha, the youngest, is in pre-school 3 days per week.This will be our fourth year with an au pair.Barry and I now know that hosting an au pair requires us to consciously focus on building a relationship with the au pair.We have learned that in the beginning, it is very important to share expectations between the au pair and us so that we are all clear on what we want and expect to get out of our year together.We all need to show respect of each other's time and space, especially since we live together.One of the most important tools for our success together is to keep our communication open.Barry and I have both learned through our experiences with working in a diverse work force that providing timely feedback and resolving conflict early with effective communication is vital to building and maintaining strong relationships.We have two major universities, Xavier and the University of Cincinnati, in the city along with several other smaller colleges.The landscape is beautiful with rolling hills and a large scenic riverfront.There are several tourist attractions such as caves, beaches, and mountains within a half -day drive from our home.Because of my part-time work schedule, the au pair will have ample time throughout the week including weekends to experience several of these opportunities either alone, with friends, or with our family during the stay.Tillträde: Våren -08 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Inga kostnader för flyg om du arbetar ett år som au pair.Visum för 13 månader.Försäkring ingår.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
