Au Pair/New Jersey.

We are a typical busy American family with two children and two working parents.We are an informal and friendly family and work hard to make childcare providers feel welcome and at home.Clara is in 7th grade and Tom in 3rd grade.Clara's favorite subjects are math, reading, and language arts.Clara reads every night with her parents.Tom's favorite sports are karate, ice-skating and swimming.Tom is a typical fun spirited boy.He's into action figures, chess, baseball, and outdoor play.Like his sister, he is very social and likes to have lots of play dates.Both of the children enjoy watching their favorite programs on TV or renting a movie from the video store.A full day in school suits them both well.Tom takes the school bus to school at about 8:40AM and will arrive home at 3:15PM.She gets home from school at about 3:10PM, but quite often has an after school activity to go to.Tom might need someone to pick him up after school to take him to karate 3-4 times a week.The children participate in the town recreation programs.They include karate, softball, and summer camp.Clara and Tom are away at sleep away camp for the month of Ju1y.We live in an area with many activities for the au pair to use when not on duty.For example, she will be eligible to take recreational programs offered by the town, as well as use the Town pool and town tennis courts.There are several universities in the area and we are in close proximity to New York City (1 hour to mid town Manhattan via car & train).We expect that the au pair will be energetic, responsive to children and their needs, and outgoing.We would like to host someone who is not easily intimidated by new surroundings and has a keen sense of adventure.Since we tend to become "couch potatoes" every once in a while, and need a jumpstart athletically, we would like our au pair to encourage physical activity as much as possible with the children.Safe and responsible driving is a must.Our interest in hosting an au pair is two-fold.Firstly, we no long require full time childcare, since the children are both in school.The au pair program offers a good alternative for us.Secondly, we would like the children to have an understanding of cultures other than their own.Having someone from another country become a part of our family presents a marvelous way for the children to learn about different cultures.Tillträde: Hösten -09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
