Au Pair/New Vernon, New Jersey

We lived in Madison NJ for almost 8 years and then moved to the nearby New Vernon and have been here for 3 years.The children have thrived in Madison and New Vernon; Madison (where they still go to school) offers very good schools and an extensive program of recreational and family activities. She has taken fencing lessons and enjoys snowboarding.Sophie just finishing the 9th grade in High School in Madison.She is very involved in sports and other activities at school, and has a close group of friends from Madison she generally likes to spend time with, going shopping, going to movies and going to "sleepover" parties.She is not very interested in sports, though she enjoys skiing and windsurfing.She loves reading as well as arts and crafts.She can spend hours entertaining herself with a good book or a crafts project.Sophie is more restless and needs more stimulation. New Vernon is just 10 minutes away (by car) from the Madison town center and train station.There is easy access to New York City from Madison; just 50 minutes by train to midtown Manhattan.Train access is also available at Basking Ridge and Morristown, both also just about 10 minutes away from our home.The house we live in has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, on a 4-acre property that is mostly wooded.There is a swimming pool on the property and a private entrance to the driveway, off the public street. It is a lovely rural setting with the convenience of being near shopping and transportation.Because we are in a more secluded location further from school activities and friends of the children, we need live-in help to see to the children's day-to-day activities and to be available in emergency situations.My husband and I each work 4 days a week. At least one evening a week would be required and some weekend time as necessary.Since we work 4 days a week but our schedule changes from week to week, there may be days when less or more time is required.We would try to set up a weekly schedule in advance.For summer and days when there is no school we would arrange a schedule so that no more than 9 hours a day are required of the au pair.We have 2 cars now and one of them is available for use by the au pair for transporting our children as well as for her personal use.Tillträde: Våren -09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
