Au Pair/New York

Hello!We are a family of three.My husband, our 21-month-old toddler and myself.We would love to have an au pair join our family for a year.My husband grew up in Greece and I am from Boston, we have both travelled extensively and found our experiences abroad a combination of exciting, scary, lonely and thrilling and we would love to be a part of someone else's discovery of America.We love to learn about new cultures, try new foods and we want our daughter to be exposed to the international community as much as possible.We would encourage our au pair to bring recipes and pictures of its home, family, friends, and the area where the au pair lives. Our daughter is a happy, active 21 month old who is constantly in motion: running, jumping, dancing and climbing.She likes to swim and take baths, she knows all the colours of the crayons and has about 10 favourite books.She is a very sociable child, really chatty - all the people in the local supermarket know her name!Even though she is getting older our daughter needs to be in direct line of sight at all times - she moves like lightening and still may put things in her mouth that she shouldn't.Our hope is to find a loving, responsible, patient, non-smoking au pair who has a high energy level and is self-confident. My husband and I both work in Manhattan, which is about a 45-minute, commute from where we live in Scarsdale.Despite its reputation as a wealthy, ritzy suburb, we live a very down-to-earth neighbourhood.We are less that half a mile to a shopping centre and 1.5 miles from the train station.There are churches, Synagogues, schools and parks nearby.We have a small yard on a block with neighbours from Japan, India and Uruguay.We would like a mature, happy, sociable person who will makes friends with other au pairs in our town but not someone who will stay out late partying on work nights and then wake up exhausted to care for our baby on little sleep!Tillträde: Våren -09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
