We are a very close family that spends as much time doing activities together as possible.Jim is an attorney in New York City.He works Monday-Friday and is gone about 65 hours a week.Weekends are reserved for time with the children.Because his time is limited with the children, he gets both children up in the morning and spends time with them during breakfast before leaving for work.Susan a former elementary school teacher, is a stay at-home mom with various interests.Susan spends her time working on projects around the house, photography, video taping, and tutoring.Susan's time is also spent attending classes with the children.Susan started a playgroup three years ago as new mom and continues to be committed to keeping that going.Both mom and dad are committed to a healthy lifestyle and spend a lot of time at the gym each week.We are also avid computer users.Karen is a smart and friendly three and a half year old who has lots of friends.She attends a weekly playgroup as well as a fours program 4 days a week.She has her moments as a four year old, but they are few and far between.She remembers everything!She surprises us sometimes with what she remembers and what she says.She is a lot of fun as well.David is a delight to be around and to take care of.He is patient and always offers a smile or laugh for anyone who will look and listen.He is laid back arid just goes along with what ever we do each day.Both children attend music class once a week.An au pair would be expected to prepare meals for the children, pick up after them, keep their rooms and bathroom clean, and do their laundry.I expect the children to help with cleaning as age appropriate.The au pair would also take them to their various activities, local parks and playgrounds, the children's museum, the local aquarium, and the zoo, so it is necessary to have a driver's license.During the summer, Karen will attend camp a few days a week and music class once a week as well as a monthly playgroup that we have been going to for three years.David will attend camp a few days a week and music once a week as well as the playgroup.In the fall, Karen will attend a fours program Monday - Thursday.David will attend a twos program on Tuesday and Thursday.We will also try to keep up the music class for both children.
