Au Pair/Pelham, New York.

Our family lives in an old Victorian home in Pelham.Pelham is a community with a small, hometown feeling.Everyone knows each other and kids walk to school, play on the block and ride bikes.We have lots of families with moms and dads who both work-so we have many au pairs in our neighborhood.Most people work in New York City, which is a 30- minute train ride away.It seems all our neighbors are involved in community activities and organizations.Parents and au pairs work together to help children with schoolwork and after school programs.Most activities are a 5 - 10 minute drive from our house!Fred and I grew up in this town and have lots of family nearby.Fred has six sisters and one brother.I have three sisters and three brothers.We have 34 nieces and nephews!Although we don't see them ever day we do get together often.Our family is very important to us and to our sons Pete and John. Our elder son Pete is 18 and will be leaving to attend college in August.Needless to say, Pete, is self-sufficient and requires no attention of our au pair.But, as a point of information Pete has a great sense of humor.He is very athletic and enjoys skiing, playing lacrosse and street roller Hockey.Our au pair will have the opportunity to meet him during holiday breaks from college.(and perhaps have the opportunity of play "beer pong" with him) That is, if he doesn't go skiing!!!John turned 12 on June 22nd.He loves our cats Sassy and Midnight.He is usually happy and well behaved.John will attend Pelham Middle School, Grade 7, in September.His school is a few blocks from our house.John takes piano and tennis lessons and enjoys riding his bike.He likes having play dates and playing outside- in the summer he enjoys going to the local pool.He loves video games and we must limit the time he plays them.Fred is a civil engineer, He works for a small firm.He enjoys almost all types of music, politics and sports.He enjoys playing tennis.He loves cooking and hopes one day open a small bistro!Fred is easy going but he likes everything to be on its place, especially in the kitchen!We believe our au pair should be responsible, energetic, athletic, neat, organized, honest, adventuresome, and fun!Someone to play with, educate and motivate our son but also "keep him in line"!Our au pair will be invited to join family activities and share her culture.We have lots of local art, music and educational activities.New York City is 30 minutes away!There are many au pairs in our neighborhood.Local au pairs spend free time together exploring New York City.We hope for a happy and memorable experience for our au pair and our family!Tillträde: Hösten -07 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Inga kostnader för flyg om du arbetar ett år som au pair.Visum för 13 månader.Försäkring ingår.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
