Au Pair/Pelham, NY

Hi!My name is Clara.We have had six wonderful au pairs and are looking forward to another great year with a new au pair.We live in Pelham, New York, which is a nice suburban village in Westchester County, just outside New York City.We live in a house, and can walk to the train station and the downtown shops in under 10 minutes.Thomas works for a bank in New York City, where he sells fixed income securities.I do not have a full time job, but am very involved in volunteer activities and taking classes.I also have a small planting business.Our children go to the public schools in Pelham and it is just a short walk from our house to the elementary and middle schools.Pelham is a great town.There are many, many au pairs who all enjoy betting to know each other and exploring New York City and the Pelham area.It is a 29-minute train ride from Pelham to New York City's Grand Central Station.And, obviously, there is lots to do in NYC.In Pelham, we have a small down town, with a movie theatre, ice cream shops, the normal grocery stores, coffee shops, etc.We have two cars.The au pair can use one to bet to the class, or to do something during off-hours.But we ask that you ask us before using the car, and we do not like the car out past 11:00 pm.Normally, we do not have the au pair drive at all until you have been here a few weeks, we have seen that you are a good driver, and we know that you knows your way around town!Our children have loved each au pair we have had.I really like having a young person in the house, getting to know you and your interests and culture.We have had great fun bringing our au pairs on our summer vacation, when we go up to the state of Maine.There we rent a house by the ocean, and enjoy sailing, boating, going on picnics and playing tennis.My parents and sometimes my sister and her family vacation there as well, so that is fan, spending time with family and cousins.So, we need an au pair who likes animals!Sometimes I ask our au pair to walk the dog, if I have to be out or if I am busy at home.This is part of your job and "hours," I think the most important thing that bring with you is a smile, energy and enthusiasm.If you really enjoys children and wants to experience a new culture, you will have a great year in the United States and a great year with the family!Our au pair is part of our family and we love having you!Tillträde: Hösten -09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
