We are a young family, with a 6 1/2 year old son (Gary) and a 3-year old daughter (Nikkole).We come from close, caring families and hope that you will help us create a loving environment for our children, contribute to our family in other ways, and learn about life in America.First let me explain a little about who we are, our home and community, and then what we expect of our au pair.Hopefully this will help you understand what it will be like to live in our home for a Year. We have lived in Seattle for 10 years and love the city; its environment, its climate, and our friends.It may sound funny to be considering joining Canadians living in the US.Don't worry.We enjoy living in America as much as you will!Rickard is a marketing executive who studied politics and economics (B.A.) at the University of' Manitoba and fashion merchandising management (diploma) at the international Academy of Merchandising and Design in Toronto (both in Canada).Megan is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for an international company that sells imagery for use in advertising and publishing.She has a great job - she gets to work with some of best photography in the world.She is creative, curious and loves to climb and investigate everything.At times she can be quite girly, wanting to wear only pink and talking about Hello Kitty.At other times she is quite a tomboy.She is used to playing with 7-year-old boys, so she is quite happy to wrestle, jump and play Lebo with the intensity of her older brother. We have both traveled extensively and treasure our memories and our friends around the world.As well, both of us have traveled throughout Europe.I have studied in England and been in exchange student to Sweden and Germany.One of the reasons we chose to have au pairs in our house was to ensure that our children could have early exposure to people and cultures from around the world.Seattle is an amazing city (you can rent the movie Sleepless in Seattle to see it).It is on the ocean.close to mountains, large enough to have big city events, but still small enough to be civil, courteous and safe.Downtown is exciting with shopping, theaters, the symphony, Pioneer Square (with lots of live music) and Pike's Place Market.Another great area is the Seattle Center (home of the Space Needle, opera, ballet, Science Center, Sonics' basketball and Thunderbirds' ice hockey).Tillträde: Hösten -06 Ålder: 18 - 26 år.
