Au Pair/Shaker Heights, Ohio

Our family lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio which is very near Cleveland, a major city in Ohio.We live in an area that is suburban and safe.We have a nice house with a yard and lives near the school that our children attend.Near our home there are public parks, swimming pools and other recreational facilities.We live very close to public transportation.Cleveland has many wonderful attractions (see http://www.cleveland.com).We have museums and colleges; we have theatre and an orchestra; we have sports teams; we have shopping.We are close to Lake Erie, one of America's "great lakes".We are near Canada and driving distance to many interesting American cities and parks.The girls are all going to school every day during the school year.They like a variety of activities.They all love to swim, bike ride and play outdoors.They also like to make crafts.Linda likes to practice karate.The girls are bright and are good students.They are usually good, but do sometimes argue with each other.They have always been friendly and respectful to their babysitters, teachers and au pairs.Clara (mother) and Tom (father) are married and both lives at home.Clara is an pediatrician, ( doctor for children) and Tom works with computers at an engineering company in downtown Cleveland.We also have many friends and extended family that live near us and spend time in our home as visitors.We have loved the two au pairs that we have had.Our children love to learning about other cultures and having an older girl as a family member up look up to and learn from.They love sharing their ideas, celebrations and life with an older "sister/babysitter." Our house has a room in the basement with a private bathroom and shower and a window, a television, etc.for the au pair to live in.The room is in the basement away from away from where the kids sleep at night for privacy.Our au pair have access to a car both for driving children and for the personal use, as long they are responsible with the car.We give the au pair a schedule weekly and while the hours tend to be the same, they may change if children have vacation from school or are sick.Usually, we need help with the children before and after school and on some weekends.We respect the au pair's time off and while we are more than happy to have them join in all our family activities we allow the au pair to have times for study and for friends and personal activities.We have found that our community has many au pairs for our au pairs to meet and socialize with.Our au pairs have found interesting classes at the community centres and the local college in the past.Tillträde: Hösten -08 Fri resa och sjukförsäkring ingår (värde 5800:-) om du har en komplett ansökan före den 31 juli 2008.Gäller vid avresa till USA under 2008.Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
