We are a young and energetic family of four living in Southport, Connecticut.Last October, our daughter Marcie was born.As a family, we tend to be fairly active.Eric loves to play outside, riding his bicycle and going to the playground.In nice weather, we like to go to the beach, zoo, or local parks.It is a beach community and there are a variety of local beaches.We also belong to a pool in the summer, as we all enjoy swimming.We also travel several times a year to our family vacation home in Florida and may consider having an au pair accompany us an a vacation there.Our current au pair went with us twice last winter and we all had a great time.We live approximately 50 minutes from New York City, where we lived until we moved to Connecticut.Once every few weeks, we still go into New York to visit friends and take advantage of the different activities that the city has to offer.Eric will be starting first grade in September and is very excited as he has had a great year in kindergarten.Eric is a sweet and loving boy who has faced some challenges early in his life.This means that he has a more difficult time than other children his age with speech, communication, fine motor skills (hand strength) and gross motor skills.We put a great amount of effort into facilitating his social interactions with his peers.These are in addition to playing with him just like any other typical 6-year-old.Eric needs a patient and caring role model that is willing to gain an understanding of how he thinks and learns; he is a kind, sensitive little boy who loves positive feedback when he succeeds.His lovely smile makes it all worthwhile!Eira is 22 months old and is a curious, energetic little toddler.She has been crawling since 7 months and spends much of her waking time exploring and running around.Marcie is a very sweet and calm 10 month old.Since she is so young, Marcie's routine is still devolving.She currently takes two naps a day in addition to sleeping 11 or 12 hours a night.After she turns 1, we will enroll her in a gym or music class to bet her involved with other children.Marcie also loves being with her big sister and brother and getting attention from them.
