Au Pair/Washington

Arbetsbeskrivning

They are 6 years old.We live in Washington, D.C.The children go to school full time from 8:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon.Peter works with environmental groups and I am home with the children.
We have had au pairs as part of our family for the past four years. We have always enjoyed having them help us with our three very active children.
Since I am home full time, our au pair helps me get the children ready for school in the morning. This includes helping with breakfast, preparing lunches, making beds, and helping the children get dressed. When the kids are at school the au pair is off and free to go to classes, be with friends, see the city, or anything else she likes to do with her free time.
The children return from school at around 3:30 pm.The au pair will help with homework, play, read, and generally be with the children while I prepare dinner. We have enjoyed having our au pairs join us for dinner.Their friends often join us.Bedtime is at 8:00 pm at which time the au pair is done working for the day.She is free to visit friends or go to classes.During the week, she can use usually use our car.
During the school year, the au pair may have to take care of the children one weekday evening a month so that we can attend school meetings.Sundays are off for the au pair.We keep a vegetarian home.We eat fish, eggs and dairy products but I do not prepare or serve meat in the house. They are free to make their own choices when we go to a restaurant but that is not very often.
The kids have a lot of friends and are busy with activities. We have many children in the neighborhood and at school, so the children often have friends at the house. Some weekdays one or more of the children will go to a friend's house after school.
Washington is a very easy city to live in.Our house is a ten-minute walk to the subway train and major bus routes. The subway and buses go downtown and near the national museums. The subway is an easy way to get to the Maryland and Virginia suburbs. We also live near many colleges and universities so there are many choices for classes.Movie theaters, restaurants, stores, gyms and other facilities are within easy walking distance of our house.
Our au pair should be good and kind with our children, and be playful and energetic with them.We also look for someone who is flexible and does not mind when our schedule changes due to days off from school, snow days, and other similar circumstances. The children generally bond quickly with the new au pair, and treat her as one of the family.Tillträde: Vintern -08/09 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Regelbundna Au Pairmöten i USA.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
