We look forward to the opportunity to be a host family again in the coming year.We have much to offer a young person hoping to experience life in the United States, and having an au pair suits our childcare needs perfectly.We also have a cat.Chris works from home as the CEO of an entertainment company; he earned his MBA at the University of Maryland and worked in politics prior to that.I am a law student and also worked in politics before having children.We live in a five-bedroom house in the community of which is about five miles north of Washington, DC.It is a very nice place to live, with lots of families, parks, shopping, and restaurants nearby.Our house is a 10-I5 minute walks from the subway station, and a five-minute walk from a main bus line.Our house is well suited to host an au pair: there is a large bedroom with its own bathroom and shower for the au pair, and there are plenty of places in the house for us to be together.Our reasons for wanting an au pair are two-fold.First, our childcare needs are concentrated in the afternoons and evenings, which cannot be accommodated by a regular childcare center.The law school program in which I am enrolled holds classes in the evenings, and I study during the afternoons.The second reason we want an au pair is so we can provide a cross-cultural experience for a young person.I was an exchange student in Japan during my senior year of high school, and I know firsthand the challenges of living in a new culture with different customs, language, food, and expectations.We also spent time living in Vietnam after graduating from college.For both of us, living abroad was one of the most challenging and rewarding things we have ever done.We can empathize with a person living in a totally new environment and help open doors to new experiences.Our expectations of our au pair are simple yet important.We want someone to provide a safe, fun, enriching environment for our children, and we want someone who will love them as much as we do!Second, we want someone who will interact with our family and become part of it.Third, we want someone who will share culture with us and teach us all about another part of the world.We look forward to another great year with an au pair in our family!Tillträde: Hösten -07 Eget boende, betald semester.Studiemedel 500-1000 dollar.Inga kostnader för flyg om du arbetar ett år som au pair.Visum för 13 månader.Försäkring ingår.Hemreseskydd vid allvarlig familjesituation.4 dagars kurs i NY innan ankomst till familjen.Vi gör regelbundna intervjuer på orter runt om i Sverige.
