Au Pair/Washington DC

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are a traditional American family with three children.Kitty, Greg and Brett.Kitty, our youngest lives at home all the time while Brett, our oldest, and Greg, our second oldest, are both at the University of Pennsylvania and live there most of the year.Kitty is just finishing 9th grade at Maret, a co-ed school in a nearby neighborhood, where she gets good grades. She is our most social creature.staying over with friends, and having them over whenever she gets the chance.Kitty plays on a recreational soccer team, which I coach - not a very serious one - and plays basketball, soccer and lacrosse for her school.Kitty has studied piano and it would be nice if she would start up again but she doesn't seem to want to just yet.Greg is 17, skinny and tall-- over 6 ft and a few inches taller than his older brother. He has just finished high school, which he loved. He played varsity soccer, tennis and basketball there.Greg has a great sense of humor and, when he is not driving his brother and sister crazy making fun of them, he can make us all laugh with his quickness and his way with words.Brett is a regular student, now between his second and third years as an undergraduate. At 19, he is mature and sensible. He has been driving for the better part of three years. He does well in university - avoids Math, enjoys English, History and Spanish. Mary my wife and I are both 54.We have been married for 27 years.Mary is from Philadelphia and I am from London, England.Mary is a full time senior policy adviser in a small government agency that supervises a part of the American financial system.I am an economist and work as the director for operational risk at a small industry association in Philadelphia. Most weeks, I travel to Philadelphia on Monday mornings and return on Thursday or Friday evenings.I do not enjoy working away from home and I am hoping to cut back my time away from home to four days a week regularly if I possibly can. Our house is quite large with six bedrooms and four floors - including one big basement floor. It is a typical brick home hereabouts -the style is called "colonial'- and it is about sixty years old. These days, being an au pair in our family is like being an elder sister. You don't have to care for our children in the way that small children need organizing for everything they do.But you have to be there for them when we are not.
