Au Pair/Washington, D.C, Virginia.

We would like to apply for an au pair to begin in the near future.This will be a first for us, although we have known many au pairs through the years through friends and our children's' friends.So far we have had mostly live-in help, doing light housework, errands, and childcare.We have a regular cleaning service, which we are happy with and will keep.I work out of the home, part time, helping him.I am very involved with the children's' schools.Our older daughter, Mary, is 10.She is sweet, vivacious, enthusiastic and very loving. Nick and Elyne are our twins and will be 5 on November 20.They are adorable, sweet, and great little kids.They are shy and will take a while to warm up so our au pair will need to have a positive attitude and be patient for the first couple of weeks (and not take their shyness personally).They need a person who is sweet, smart, gentle but firm, patient, and fun.They have really loved our nannies so far.They are in junior kindergarten at a private school in McLean, VA (about 20 minutes away).They go from 7:50am to 10:50 am every day.Elyne takes ballet once a week and the two of them have regular play dates with their friends.We usually take a vacation in August, for about 10 days, and perhaps a couple of other short trips during the year (to New York, Williamsburg, etc.) I am contemplating a trip to Italy in the spring or summer with the children; I love to travel!The au pair will have it's own room in the basement, a large walk out basement that has an exercise room and a large main room which we use a play area.The Au Pair will have it's own phone line for local calls and can use a calling card (much cheaper that way), and a TV with cable.We can hook up a high-speed Internet connection for the Au Pair, too, if Au Pair would like (who wouldn't, in this day and age), and we could came up with a computer for her if the Au Pair does not have one.
