Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

In the Autonomous Drive function teams we design, integrate and verify the complete vehicle solution for autonomous cars. Our autonomous technology will take relaxed and safe car journeys to a new level; this is the future of driving! To make this happen we need talented people, who want to be challenged to reach their full potential, on-board!

We are now looking for engineers with competence of function- and system design to join our Autonomous Drive platform teams. The responsibility is to define a robust and secure system platform design for our own and external partners’ self-driving functions.

Who you are.
You are a self-driven and proactive team player with high ambitions. You are curious, always eager to learn and innovative. You care about people and you like to take responsibility for getting things done.

You will be part of a design team who will design and create a self-driving platform that fulfils the needs of our external partners.
We are looking for applicants with documented competence and experience of function and system design within relevant areas, not necessarily from the automotive industry. You are used to define, document and verify safety critical systems. Cross-functional way of working is natural for you to reach high quality results in time. You are a dedicated team worker and the team’s achievements are important to you. Verification of your design is as important as the design itself and you think verification through the development cycle.

You will be part of a team with competences in system- and function design as well as verification. You will enhance the team with your background and motivation to deliver safe and best possible functionality to our external partners.

You probably have a M.Sc. degree or comparable experience. Fluency in spoken and written English, as well as a driver’s license (B) with adequate driving experience, is required.

What will you do?
You will be one of the team players in a cross functional team where you will contribute with system- and function design, verification and system safety competence to secure the delivery of an Autonomous Drive platform.

What do we offer?
The chance to join a rapidly growing team working on one of the largest challenges the automotive industry has ever seen; autonomous driving is a high profile, high tech field with an exciting future at the heart of Volvo Car’s business plans. Within this, we offer an environment of every day learning, challenges and continuous feedback and the opportunity to have fun. Your long-term competence plan will include steps to expand your knowledge. We will support you to reach your full potential. Join us on this exciting journey into the future.
