AWS Database Administrator (DB Admin) - Malmo

Assignment Description:
We are looking for an AWS Database Administrator who will play a crucial role in administering and engineering multiple databases across different AWS environments and will primarily work with AWS MariaDB and AWS DynamoDB on various platforms. This position requires strong expertise in PL/SQL and NO-SQL, along with experience in database migrations, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure.
What you'll do:
· Perform administration and engineering tasks for multiple databases in AWS environments.
· Provide expertise in PL/SQL and NO-SQL, which are part of AWS Database Services.
· Execute database migrations, including ETL processes, from On-Premise to Cloud or Cloud to Cloud.
· Suggest improvements and drive cost optimizations for various Database services.
· Test, validate, and implement performance and resource optimization improvements in collaboration with AWS development teams.
· Manage servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
· Monitor and maintain database security and perform regular software upgrades.
· Conduct root cause analysis of production-related database issues.
· Perform database and application performance tuning.
· Implement backup and recovery strategies.
Who you are:
· 7+ years of experience in Cloud Database Services and administration.
· Expertise in PL/SQL and NO-SQL as part of AWS Database Services.
· Experience with at least 2 database migration projects, including ETL processes.
· Ability to suggest and implement cost optimizations for database services.
· Test, validate, and implement performance and resource optimization improvements in collaboration with AWS development teams.
· Strong experience in managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
· Proficient in monitoring and maintaining database security and software upgrades.
· Proven ability to perform root cause analysis of production-related database issues.
· Skilled in database and application performance tuning.
· AWS Certified Database - Specialty certification.
· Experience in RedisCache or ElasticCache.
· Experience in MemoryDB or DocumentDB.
