Backend Developer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Since selling our first timepiece in 2011, Daniel Wellington has evolved into a global phenomenon that has disrupted an entire industry. We are an exciting, vibrant, and innovative brand that challenges old conventions - continuously striving to enrich our customers' style through timeless pieces.
When you join us, you are joining a brand that values entrepreneurship and inspires growth. Together we can achieve our aim of building the world's leading accessory brand. If you would like to contribute, here's how:
Team Beam consists of five backend developers, one of them is also our Team lead. We work closely with our architect, UX designer and our Product owner as well as other teams.
We improve the infrastructure in the communication between systems such as 3pl's and marketplaces by creating reliable and smart microservices between multiple systems using the AWS platform and Node.js.
The team has a heavy focus on backend functionality such as integrations and providing data for our in-house teams. We’re looking for someone who enjoys backend development in a distributed environment and a plus would be if you feel comfortable in a frontend React codebase to bring wonders of our backend to the users.
We want you to take great responsibility and work comfortably with primarily backend and occasionally frontend. The services we build rely on a range of technologies such as Node.js, AWS “Serverless” - Lambda, SNS, SQS, API gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB and more.
At Daniel Wellington we strive for continuous development and see knowledge sharing as a key to reach success. Our services are used from people all over the world, hence security, performance, and scalability are aspects we value deeply.
WE THINK THAT YOU
have great experience with Node.js
experience with AWS - preferably serverless stack (lambda, step functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB)
write and test your code according to the best practices
have experience owning quality assurance through the development cycle
can facilitate technical discussions around architectures, design, processes and testing
have strong skills communicating with technical colleagues and other stakeholders
are forward leaning and that you take ownership and initiatives
are a team player and that you appreciate and value collaborative work

WHO YOU ARE
have knowledge in TypeScript
know your way around a React code base
have experience working with react-testing-library

THIS IS US
As a member of the BEAM team, you are a part of an inclusive and diverse workplace, where we want you to be yourself. You are given the opportunity to make an impact and directly contribute to our success. Along with continuous learning and trying out new tech stack. You will have the chance to work and interact with people from all over the world, and together we create a world-class company. You will spend your days in collaborative and dynamic offices with a highly skilled team, do great work, and have fun while doing so.
Are we ticking your boxes?
ABOUT THE PROCESS
This process will house personality tests as a first step, and case assignment at later stage, to help us break human biases as we believe in giving everyone an equal opportunity. Do your best and hope to see you in the process!
