Backend & Infrastructure Engineer

Nortical improves battery efficiency. We do this by analyzing live battery data in order to compile battery insights that we use to give advice on how to utilize them better in the future.

We are smack in the middle of the creation of a completely new value chain. As the world is electrifying, batteries are becoming the centerpiece of both existing and new business models and products. You will work in the very center of this change together with a diverse team of like-minded individuals, people truly taking an active role in shaping the future of electrification and how batteries will be used.

As we are growing, the tech team needs more hands on deck for the development and maintenance of backend services and cloud infrastructure.
​
What You´ll Do
You will be developing and maintaining Norticals backend services and cloud infrastructure.
​
This is a role with a wide task distribution all over the stack, but since we build an API-centric product there is no particular need for frontend/web development experience. However, a full-stack developer has a good chance of filling the role requirements.
​
The tech team is small but shoulders a lot of responsibility, working autonomously with a great degree of freedom. This puts expectations on the applicant to be self-propelled, curious, documentation-driven, and obsessed with automation. Being an early startup, we often end up doing stuff we didn't expect, so an agile mindset is needed.


Key Qualifications

-Modern back-end service engineering, e.g:
Containerisation
CI/CD
Networking
Serverless computing
Variety of database solutions
API design
Microservices

-Cloud ops experience (ideally GCP)
-Experience designing and running ML/data pipelines in production
-Comfortable with Typescript
-Enjoy functional programming
-Automation addict
-Pragmatic code quality inquisitor
-Terminal native
-English - full professional level




Bonus Skills
-Weirdly excited about static typing
-Elixir/Erlang
-C/Rust embedded development
-Swedish speaker
