Antal barn: 2 Var: Wellington2 REF#: T2000Wellington Om familjen: Hello Here is some information about our family: We are seeking an au pair to come into our family as an extension of our family unit as opposed to an 'employee.' Acting as a 'big sister' role to our two young daughters. We have travelled extensively and would like to keep our girls' exposed to other cultures and languages as much as possible.Currently Caitlin is learning German, but just a year ago we lived in Mexico and she was becoming very good at Spanish. We consider ourselves to be a 'laid back' family. My husband Steve is a Kiwi, but was raised on a pacific Island, so he's incredibly laid back!I am British (so more highly strung and emotive!).Caitlin (almost 4!) takes after her Dad, she is intelligent, curious and loves to learn. She is very active, preferring outdoorsy activities and sports. She thrives in preschool and loves to paint/draw/read.Jessie (15 months) is more shy.She takes a while to get used to people. Her development is somewhat slower, and she has only just started to walk. She likes her toys and likes 'one on one' attention. She gets uncomfortable in a group. We encourage the au pair to take her out on day trips, she loves riding on the train and seeing new sights. Steve and I have stressful jobs.As such, our evenings are about chilling out in the lounge and shutting down.Evenings the au pair is free to come and go.Occasionally we might like to go out for dinner, but this is quite rare!Weekends we got into a rut with taking our current au pair out with us every time and buying her lunch and dinner. We found it becoming a little tiresome because she didn't want to work, but she wanted to be with us and it became quite draining, so we ask that weekends we are have our space. That said on special occasions - birthdays, Christmas, we are happy to have family dinners and would love to have the au pair join us if she is interested. Also, we're finding our current au pair expects dinner to be made for her every night. This isn't always great for us and we've always encouraged her as with anybody else that there is always a wealth of different meals available in the kitchen which can be used. We live in a large house near the sea and there is a train station down the road. The au pair would have their own large room and private bathroom. Also, their own computer to use online and a mobile phone. The age of the au pair will dictate the use of a car.If the au pair is younger than 25 we will purchase a different car for them to use - as unfortunately our cars cannot be driven by anyone under 25. We don't expect the au pair to clean the house (we have a cleaner). But we do expect them to clean their bathroom and bedroom. Also tidy away the girls's toys at the end of the day. Caitlin has clear boundaries on what is and isn't acceptable. She only has tantrums when she's over tired.Any demanding behaviour results in a 'time out' (for approx 5 mins - supervised) for which she apologies and has to calm down.We install good manners in our daughters and expect that whomever lives with us sets a good example of how to speak to eac
