Behavioral pharmacologist

Poolia Life Science Presentation On behalf of one of our clients, we are looking for a behavioural pharmacologist for a temporary assignment to begin as soon as possible and to last until 23 December, 2010. The client is a neurology department at a pharmaceutical company. A major task for the department is to evaluate novel treatment concepts through studying preclinical disease models. The overall goal is to develop new drugs and treatments for the major neurodegenerative disorders, in particular Alzheimer's disease. Arbetsuppgifter You will be responsible for designing and implementing efficacy studies for Alzheimer's disease and cognition models. Utbildning/erfarenhet We are looking for an in-vivo neuropharmacologist who has worked with, and has a background in, behavioural models, various drug dosing paradigms, brain dissection and tissue preparation. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. within behavioural pharmacology. Expertise in having run rodent models of cognition is an absolute requirement. Hands-on experience from having worked with Alzheimer's disease is a merit. Good communication skills, high motivation and the ability to interact and work effectively in a team-based environment are essential qualifications. Previous experience of having worked within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a merit.
