Biotechnologist

Location: Slough, Berkshire

Must have a minimum of an A level or equivalent in a scientific discipline, but ideally scientific degree and preferably experience working in an industrial environment.

Duties will include ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with schedule, safety requirements and GMP and will work either within a purification or fermentation area.

Will obtain a thorough knowledge of the production systems to enable official production and assist in Lot Disposition activities. Will use quality procedures e.g. change control, the deviation system, internal audits and validation procedures.

1) Purification Biotechnologists shift is: 2 week rotating shift rota. All shifts are a 12 hour day. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday.

2) Fermentation Biotechnologists - 3 week rotating shift system. Currently hours are 8am - 4.30pm but 2 additional shifts are likely to be added so new recruits are likely to work different hours (an earlier and later shift are going to be implemented). Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Week 3: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
