Genetic Development – Breeding – Nordic Dairy
Are you passionate about animal breeding, data, and making a real impact in the dairy and beef industry?
We are looking for a Breeding Specialist to join our Genetic Development team in Sweden (preferably near Skara). This is a great opportunity for recent graduates as well as experienced professionals who want to work with Nordic breeding programs and contribute to genetic progress. Work tasks will be assigned according to qualifications.
As a Breeding Specialist, you will be part of developing Nordic cattle populations and supporting breeding decisions through both data analysis and field work. You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and gradually grow into a key role within the team.

Your main tasks will include:
Development of dairy x dairy crossbreeding schemes in close cooperation with product manager for crossbreeding (approx. 30–40% of work time). Work tasks could include:
Develop data-driven documentation for national and international markets
Develop crossbreeding concepts
Go to markets tasks related to dairy x dairy to support national and international sales
Selections of bull and donor candidate
Contributing to the development of the VikingEmbryo program and breeding schemes
Conducting data analysis and supporting breeding decisions
Participating in field activities such as visiting breeders, agricultural schools, and partners
Supporting implementation of R&D results into practical breeding strategies


Location: Sweden (preferably near Skara)

Your qualifications:
Background in animal science, agriculture, or similar (Husdjursagronom, Lantmästare or similar)
Good understanding of quantitative genetics
Interest or experience in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, R, or similar)
Practical experience in animal breeding is an advantage, but not required
Strong communication skills in Swedish and English
Structured, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks
Team player with the ability to work independently
Interest in applying AI in daily work routines
