Volvo Bus Corporation is the world's second largest manufacturer of large buses and coaches. The range comprises complete vehicles, chassis, transport system solutions for metropolitan traffic, leasing, financing and service contract maintenance. Production is carried out in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia. We employ about 7700 persons. The Uddevalla Plant, a wholly owned subsidiary to Volvo Bus Corporation, manufactures complete frames and sub-structures for buses and coaches. The Plant is a production unit within the Chassie Europe organization within Volvo Buses Global Manufacturing organisation. In Uddevalla, we run a highly automated welding facility capable of producing world class quality and precision. We are currently 150 employees. As our present Business Controller has left the business to pursue opportunities outside the Volvo Group we are now looking for a replacement. The successful candidate will join the Finance Department of Chassie Europe working in close cooperation with Finance colleagues at the Uddevalla and Borås Plants as well as the Production, Engineering, Purchasing, IT and other functions at the Uddevalla Plant. Additionally the candidate will interact with Finance staff functions at the Arendal Headquarters. The role of the Business Controller includes both accounting and controlling related tasks. Job Content: Controlling Assist in driving operations toward target fulfilment through participation in activity-focused Forecast and Business Plan Processes Visualize financial impact of planned activities to the Operations and follow up of actions taken Identify areas of improvement in the business and assist operations in exploring these opportunities. Participate in / Lead Projects focusing on cost reductions and reduced capital tied up Accounting & Analysis Participate in Monthly, Quarterly and Year End Closing Processes - from account reconciliation to financial and management reporting Drive process improvement activities to improve quality and reduce lead-time in the financial processes Prepare Cash Flow, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Business KPIs for Management. Analysis of financial and physical business data including Variance- and Trend-analysis Qualifications: Degree in Business Administration or equivalent 2-5 years of automotive industry finance experience preferred Personality and skills: Excellent communication skills - ability to effectively communicate with financial as well as operational colleagues Strong Business Acumen Ability to cooperate with others as well as to take initiative and drive issues individually. Courage & Integrity in the role as Controller, ability to challenge the Operations and to apply a shareholder perspective to the business Manage to deliver results in a changing environment. Analytical mindset, ability to handle large amounts of data Basic accounting skills and understanding of integrated business systems (ERP) e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, BaaN or similar Interest in continuous process improvement and statistical process control
