Over the course of the past five years we have grown to a business of over 500 Instaboxers united by a single purpose; providing the smoothest shipping experience known to man. We’re super fast, both in terms of parcel delivery and when it comes to growing our business. In parallel with our rapid growth we continue to explore new ventures to add to our services. With this in mind we are looking for a Business Development Manager to help us navigate the road ahead.
What you will be doing
In this role no day will be like the previous one. As Business Development Manager you will be involved in the discovery and planning of new ventures across our platform. This could involve new business opportunities, new services or products and even new business models. Reporting directly to our Head of New Ventures you will be building business cases aimed at exploring alternative ways for us to grow, starting from market analysis and ending in decisions taken jointly with our Management team in where to invest our efforts and resources. Depending on your experience and interest, we envision you to take part in the execution or implementation of these ideas as well. In short your tasks will include, but not be limited to:
Build business cases based on marketing data, strategic thinking and understanding of the company abilities and strengths
Developing commercial models, including pricing strategies
Financial and operational modelling
Budgeting and forecasting
Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders
One of your biggest challenges will doubtlessly be distinguishing between what we should do here and now and what we should say no to at the moment. Some ideas will be crucial for driving business growth in the next few years, while some will only be relevant at a later date. Your job will include figuring out which label to put on a given case.
Who you are
In order to be successful in this role you will need to have between 3-5 years of experience working in a similar role, most likely within management consulting. You combine this experience with outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic that will build and maintain a broad network within the company as well as with advisors and partners. When we call your references they will tell us about your ability to present complex ideas in a compelling way to stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. They will also point out that while you are able to produce slides that can knock the socks off any board member, you are more inclined towards producing the MVP materials that can be used to make quick decisions and inspire action. Moreover we would like to see evidence of the following in your profile:
Strong analytical skills - (Goes without saying?)
Independent with a well-developed ability to make decisions
Strong business acumen and strategic understanding
Ability to work with people of all backgrounds and seniority levels
International outlook and curiosity
