Volvo Car Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Volvo Cars all over the world. Its research and development mostly takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. The main production currently occurs in Belgium and Sweden. The number of employees is approximately 25 000 people. Volvo cars
are sold in more than 100 countries around the world.

Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars - suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars.

The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.

The purchasing function within Volvo Car Corporation is divided between Production Purchasing and Non-production purchasing - FM&SP.

The FM&SP department are divided into three sections: Facilities, Machinery & Tooling, Services and Logistics and Operational development. We work together with our stakeholders to create and deliver supreme value together with our suppliers.

We are now looking for Commodity buyers in Facilities, Machinery&Tooling section and Services section.

Main responsibilities:

To drive and develop the purchasing work within selected commodities
Responsibility for - in cooperation with the internal customer -
development and implementation of commodity strategies
Perform year to year commercial negotiations
Responsibility for market testing, sourcing and negotiations
Daily administration work such as ordering, handling of agreements etc
Responsibility for optimizing the supply base
Responsibility for identifying and implementing cost reductions in cooperation with suppliers and internal customers

Desired qualifications:

Technical or Economical university education (or equivalent)
Experience from commercial work
Experience from commercial negotiations and legal knowledge
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both English and Swedish

Personal profile:

Strong business acumen combined with high integrity
Strong ability for teamwork and leadership skills
Ability to prioritize your own work and deliver on time
Result oriented
