About you

We are looking for a positive business leader who is passionate about creating value in an omnichannel environment. Ideally, you have more than 5 years’ global experience in a senior management role from multiple IKEA retail operations.

We believe that you are someone who can build relationships, connect well with people and ideas, and hold things together even when they get complex or unclear.  You enjoy working in a high paced environment and you have a proven ability to bring structure to a difficult setting. You are comfortable in making effective decisions based on sound judgement, priorities, and business values.

Excellent communication, navigating the complexities of the IKEA business and technology landscape are some of the given qualities you bring with you. You also possess a solid understanding of IKEA franchise system coupled with familiarity of the agile framework and practices. We trust that you are a people leader with a strong focus in growing people and business.

Retail Operation Solutions & Support is an integral part of Core Business Franchise and consists of a team of people with passion for retail and competence in business and technology. We are moving into a new chapter with an ambition to provide IKEA retailers with a set of digital products and services that are integrated into IKEA value chain and supporting the omnichannel IKEA Concept. We call this the Retail Package and it covers key capabilities for retail operations.

About the role

As a Chapter Area Manager, you will secure and create overall competence development and resource plan within the Retail Operation Solutions & Support organisation. One of your primary responsibilities is to establish chapters of competent and high performing team to form our newly minted product-oriented organisation.

You will lead the development of the right competencies, principles, standards, and frameworks related to the Chapter area across product teams and leadership areas to deliver functional excellence. You will Initiate, develop, and cultivate working relationships with product and platform development areas and service teams. As part of the management team, additionally you play a vital part in breaking down overall IKEA strategies and movements to a clear and strategic direction for the Retail Package.

 

Recruiting, attracting, and securing resources are part of your most important responsibilities to ensure there is expertise to develop and execute the digital Product roadmap, including improving visibility of IKEA’s digital product development activities. Professional development of the chapter area is instrumental in the success of the product team.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) located in Malmö, Sweden.  There may be some international travel required for this role. You will report to the ROSS Manager.
