As Thule Group continues to grow, we offer you the opportunity to join our Engineering team at our Global Product Development Center in Hillerstorp, within our different product categories, Sports & Cargo, Packs, Bags and Luggage and Active with Kids.

In this role as a Chemical Compliance Engineer, you will be a part of the product compliance group and will be responsible for driving compliance of our products with regulations and directives governing safe use of chemicals. You will be collaborating with product development to ensure that all products comply with internal and external requirements allowing access to markets around the world. You will support with materials selection and qualification, working with product development, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure appropriate materials used in our products based on compliance and performance requirements. You will also collaborate with external partners including bluesign and RISE.

Your Profile:

You hold an academic degree in chemistry / chemical or environmental engineering or similar discipline along with some years of work experience preferably within compliance or product development. We expect you to have familiarity with regulations you will be working with including REACH, RoHS, IMDS and GADSL. It is desirable if you have acquired knowledge of analytical test techniques including GC-MS, HPLC etc. Previous knowledge of industrial processes for material conversion is advantageous.

You are someone who is able to take on individual responsibility and show a can-do and positive attitude towards your work and team colleagues. You have an eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment interacting with a variety of functions within the company. Communication is a key to success in this role as you will be working with a variety of project groups across the globe, interpreting demands and requirements in the framework of product compliance. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate collaborative skills across teams and departments in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of our products.

About our Global Product Development Department

We have over 120 engineers working in our Global Product Development Department and to keep the momentum in successful product development innovation, most of our Product Development functions are in-house, such as project managers, industrial designers, concept-, design-, prototype-, simulation- and test-engineers. Our team consists of highly skilled and motivated members with a well-balanced variety of experiences. We are a truly global company with an international and multi culturally mixed team.
