Chemical Process Engineer

Many pharmaceutical, fine and speciality chemical companies are converting from batch to continuous processing under the influence of commercial and regualtory pressures and new technological developments.Alfa Laval has lead such technlogy conversions in theDiary & Food, Petrochemical and Utilities sectors.Now Alfa Laval is applying its knowledge in heat transfer and fluid flow to produce a new range of continuous reactors.The position is within the Reactor Technology group which is charged with supporting the market introduction of Alfa Laval's new Plate Reactors and Systems.This technical role is to work within a team of committed scientists and engineers.The successful applicant will have specific responsibility for developing expertise in mass transfer systems and immiscible liquid - liquid reaction applications of this technology.This will require an understanding of relevant theory, a strong aptitude for experimentation and a willingness to participate in technical meetings with customers.Other tasks include modelling of chemical reaction systems and laboratory organisation.The candidate should be service oriented with a University Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, be energetic, self motivated and organised, proficient in handling chemicals, willing to travel and fluent in English.This is an opportunity to be involved in establishing a new business, and will also expose the successful candidate to the marketing, sales and service functions of a global company.
