As a Chemical Regulatory Specialist within Global Sustainability you will work as part of a team of specialists providing professional support and specialist advice to the global business in areas of chemical compliance. Supporting both Chemical Registration and Safety Data Sheet activities, this includes providing technical expertise to support the AZ global business with the interpretation and implementation of the demands related to REACH, GHS, CLP and other chemical regulations.



Accountabilities

* Support AZ processes relating to chemical registration required during development, commercialization and manufacturing of final products.
* Support/manage timely submission of EU chemical registrations to ECHA, including collaborating closely with internal regulatory staff and technical specialists, collecting and analysing test results and preparation of dossiers for timely submissions to relevant authorities.
* Guide, advise and support the organization as needed in regard to e.g. Strictly Controlled Conditions, the Biocidal Product Regulation, specific issues on Substances of Very High Concern including SVHC in Articles.
* Provides technical expertise in the production of Safety Data Sheets for APIs/Biologics and associated formulations, hazard classification and communication to the business to ensure compliance with local, national and regional regulations
* Provide solutions to sophisticated customer queries, using regulatory knowledge and liaises with specialists in other AZ functions to ensure that Safety Data Sheets contain accurate information reflecting the business interpretation of hazardous properties for AZ manufactured materials.



Essential requirements

* University degree; Graduate in the biological/pharmaceutical /chemical sciences or equivalent.
* A High level of expertise in Global Chemical Legislation, in particular REACH, CLP and GHS.
* A great team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and excellent time management skills in a dynamic work setting



Desirable requirements

* Influencing and negotiating skills
* BPR knowledge
* Experience using SAP EH&S Software
