Chemist with good polymer knowledge

We are now looking for a Polymer Chemist to a permanent position in an International Company on the West Coast of Sweden.

Position

The R&D chemist will be involved in projects directed towards product development, exploring and developing new concepts and materials. This position will also comprise interaction/support to technical and manufacturing teams. 

Responsibillity

The chemist responsibility is formulating and designing/ performing/ coordinating products/ tests and experiments. He or she will also summarize, analyze and draw independent conclusions from test results. Troubleshooting on problems concerning new products is also a part of the task related to design, material, or process.

The chemist will work with Product Engineering/ Technical/ Manufacturing to ensure that any changes are acceptable and also interact with customers as needed as well as understand product application and performance requirements. Produce technical documentation for internal and external use. Traveling will be required to perform assignments.

 Requirements

 You must have a Degree in Materials/ Chemical Engineering or related  subjects. Preferably a Masters Degree with 5 years industrial experience or a PhD Degree with industrial experience.

Good knowledge of thermal, chemical and mechanical tests for materials and experience in characterization and understanding of surfaces and interfaces is a must. Expertise with polymer chemistry, particularly Polyurethanes. Skills in Scanning electron Microscopy, Surface Topography and Materials Processing are strong merits as well as experience in coating and lamination of substrates is a merit. Experience in leading people formally or in projects is a plus.

Personal Profile

You should be capable of understanding and utilizing new technologies. Comfortable with working alone as well as in a team as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have good leadership skills. Strong communication skills and will easily cooperate with others. Speak and write English fluently is a must and knowledge of Swedish language is a merit.
