Vattenfall Power Consultant (VPC) Climate Group is Looking for a Climate Project Manager for the Middle East Vattenfall Power Consultant (VPC) is the leading Swedish energy consultancy company - with major expertise and experience in the power sector.With technical, management and environmental consulting services, we cover the entire energy sector from generation and power networks to sales and trading.VPC's international projects include transmission and distribution, nuclear, hydro, thermal and renewable energy options - from special targeted advice to large-scale overall solutions.VPC covers the energy sector in a broad sense - by offering advice on renewable energy (hydro, thermal, wind, solar, nuclear), transmission (HVAC and HVDC), distribution (rural energy services), environmental and social impact assessments s, market integration, system stability, economic and financial assessment and reduced emission of greenhouse gases. The Department of Climate at Vattenfall is now looking for a: Climate Project Manager for the Middle East RESPONSIBILITIES Your main assignment will be to work with the Kyoto Protocol's flexible CDM (Clean Development Mechanism), primarily in the Middle East.Our objective is to identify, evaluate and accomplish projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.The work entails promoting Vattenfall, negotiating with project owners as well as gather and analyzing data out of the entire region.Examples of projects that can be registered within the CDM are those within sectors such as wind, hydro and biomass, as well as industry energy efficiency and fuel switch .In the assessment of a CDM project, technical and economic evaluations are equally important, as well as local knowledge about the sector.QUALIFICATIONS -We think you have been formally trained in finance or engineering either in Sweden or at a college or university elsewhere. -Your background is in the field of energy and/or industry.-Experience in clean energy solutions is a merit.-You are fully fluent in Arabic and English. -French is a merit since projects may be initiated in North Africa. -You are well practiced in project management.- Experience in negotiation and in project financing is a merit.QUALITIES -You understand Western European norms and business procedures.-You are analytical and attentive both to detail and to comprehensive totality.-You easily comprehend new information and go after new knowledge.-You are business-like and communicative so that you can promote Vattenfall.-Flexible / free to travel as a major portion of the work will be done abroad.EMPLOYMENT Full time.6 month review period prior to permanent position.APPLICATION Tell us why you want to work for Vattenfall Power Consultant VPC, managing climate projects in the Middle East, and what qualifies you for this position!Also include your CV!Questions are answered by our recruiter, Ms.Final application date: 2008-10-31
