Are you passionate about cloud computing and infrastructure engineering in an agile software development context? We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to strengthen our IT infrastructure team with someone skilled within core infrastructure components such as Databases, Servers and Storage in traditional on-prem solutions but also on cloud solutions as landing zones, IaaS and PaaS. As Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to modernize and automate our current infrastructure landscape by utilizing modern cloud services, we are looking for skills that could help us bridge and transform technology and services from datacenter centric to cloud centric solutions.
 During this year most of our workloads will be running on Cloud services. We are looking for colleagues to help us transform and develop new capabilities to fully embrace the potential of Cloud services and empower our development and business teams to facilitate rapid application development. We are on a journey to follow the Cloud Adoption Framework and apply the policies and learnings from the hyper scalers.
 Moving our on-premise data centers to the Azure Cloud platform is part of a bigger digital transformation to support the company's business functions and markets. You will join the Volvo Cars Digital Platform team and become a part of our exciting journey towards a product-oriented software company. The team is located in Gothenburg but we also have teams in US and in China. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and scale our services globally. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it!

What you’ll do
  As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will work with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions, policies, and best practices for our infrastructure service delivery. You bring expertise in cloud frameworks, automation  and to codify and manage underlying IT infrastructure as software (programmable or software-defined infrastructure).
 As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you’ll help us build new architecture of the Volvo Cars infrastructure stack so that it supports and ease the execution of the company strategy. You will participate in assessing existing system architecture, designing future state, and building transition in order to migrate both applications and infrastructure to a highly resilient cloud environment. We’re increasingly motivated to operate globally and across multiple public cloud providers.
 In the Cloud Platform team we design and implement our Cloud infrastructure guardrails via infrastructure as code (IaC) and agile methodologies. We achieve this, using CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, GIT, and PowerShell. Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, API design and development are desired.
 With an always-on mindset and high sense of urgency, ensure that we define and evolve a system architecture which provides the foundation for efficient, qualitative software development by several hundred product teams. You will be in close interaction with Product Owners, Tech Leads and business representatives to create new architectural patterns, develop and deliver cloud future state architectures and roadmaps according to industry best practices while supporting our growing application teams.
Do you fit the profile?
 You have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, ecosystems and governance in general. You have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field. You are fluent in English, both verbally and written. You are experienced at working within agile development practices and teams that use collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or alike.
 Expert knowledge in Azure Storage, Networking, Security, Identity, Management

 Use technical expertise and knowledge of architecture to benchmark with third party organizations to identify and incorporate best practices into the overall Cloud Architecture.
 You are an engineer or an architect with 10+ years of relevant IT experience with working knowledge of servers with different operating systems including hardware, software, networking and storage. Preferably you have comprehensive knowledge as an enterprise systems administrator in a client or server environment, including experience with Azure services, Terraform, Ansible, Git, etc. As we are shifting workloads out from our on-premise data centers to hybrid and public cloud platforms/services, you should have 3+ years of cloud architect experience and understand how all these things work together to make end user applications work and work well.

You are forward-thinking and you push for innovation. You are excellent at communication, presenting and relationship building with teams and global partners.
