SUMMARY:
The Commissioning Manager is responsible for setup of appropriate systems and execution of all commissioning activities for the project, including the eventual handover of successfully tested facilities to the Owner’s team
JOB DUTIES:
Applying project safety management systems during commissioning, adapting them to the specific needs and any unique risks. Responsible for health, safety and environmental performance for all personnel and facilities under their control during commissioning.
Developing and implementing of a detailed execution plan including schedule and budget fully integrated with the project schedule and budget.
Safe and timely execution of all commissioning activities and integration of these activities with both project and operations
Managing the commissioning team and coordinating activities between construction and the Owner’s organization, including:
-Validating that everyone conforms to the isolation and tagging procedures
-Ensuring the availability of safety/warning panels, card, tapes etc.
-Controlling the presence on site of Vendor representatives to assist construction and commissioning
-Coordinating the presence on site of design engineers and specialists to assist the commissioning teams as required
-Establishing a list of testing instruments, tools, etc. and proceed with the rental or purchase if not furnished by the Contractor
-Overseeing the recruitment, mobilization, training, supervision and de-mobilization of personnel
-Developing and communicating the requirements and timing for materials, resources and external services for commissioning and ensures these requirements are secured
-Managing the commissioning cost and schedule vs. budget and plan and reports on physical progress and performance of activities and deliverables vs. budget and plan
-Managing the relationship with the project management team to ensure the requirements for commissioning are clearly communicated and understood
-Leading daily and weekly progress review meetings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
● Degree or equivalent in Engineering
● Strong Leadership skills and the ability to lead a complex team, made up of project engineers, equipment vendors, suppliers, operations and maintenance personnel.
● Working knowledge of MS office suite
● Effective Report writing skills
● Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
● Planning and organization skills
● Ability to fit into a team environment
● Able to communicate directly with the Client on key issues
