Commodity Manager Power Solutions – Powertrain

Commodity Manager Power Solutions – Powertrain

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide. The current manager will leave his position and hence we are seeking a successor.

Are you ready to take your career to the next level working with the amazing people within the Power Solutions community?
Then you might be our next Commodity Manager at Powertrain Purchasing!

Main mission
As a Manager you will be responsible to lead a team of seven co-workers with the main mission to manage both project as well as commodity tasks. This means ensuring nomination of the best suppliers in all ongoing and future projects, managing supplier relations, enabling sourcing strategies, secure suppliers capacity and reaching competitive cost levels related to our purchased parts.

You will work in close cooperation with Scania’s Power Solutions Research & Development Department, purchasing quality departments as well as other purchasing commodity teams within Scania and you will be a part of the Management team of Powertrain Commodity.

Currently, there is a strong focus on green arrow projects and your team will play an important role in these projects together with our cross functions.

Your profile
You’re looking for an environment to grow where you need to take your own initiative and have the maturity and ability to handle multiple open cases. You like to work in a multi-cultural environment with high ambitions. Probably you have the experience to develop people and teams and like to see them succeed. You share a mindset of collaboration.

Beneficial is if you have a technical and commercial understanding with good experience of business to business negotiations as it’s an important part of our job. The work includes a lot of interactions in different levels with our cross functions and it is therefore important that you also are capable to manage communication fluently in both Swedish and English.

A previous experience in Management and Purchasing is, of course, an important advantage.

Me and the management team
My name is Johan Mandell and I have been working within the area of purchasing for 15 years, mainly within Scania Purchasing but I also spent 3 years in the construction sector. I have had the opportunity to work in different managerial roles within General Purchasing, Cab & Electronics as well as Powertrain.

What truly drives me are challenging tasks and the opportunity to make a change. I find it very motivating to have the ability to utilize the strengths and capabilities from both the team and individuals to achieve our objectives. I prefer environments that are dynamic and with a high pace rather than the opposite.

The Powertrain Commodity management team consists of four fantastic colleagues with a mix of backgrounds, experiences and competences. We act and work as one team and strongly believe on both individual and joint accountability connected to what we together set out to achieve. We are encouraged by creating a modern, open workplace where people are involved, engaged and connected.
