Commodity Sourcing Manager, Sheet Metal

Arbetsbeskrivning

Are you attracted to the prospect of working as a purchaser in a dynamic, commercial and international environment with a high tempo and great development possibilities? Then Scania Global Purchasing could be the next step in your career.

The department Commodity Sheet Metal buys steel products for our global truck and bus production and is currently in an exciting phase of development with new projects and business challenges in the pipeline. We are looking for a driven and committed team member for our high volume pressed parts segment who is interested in business and technology and wants to be part of developing the future of an important core segment for Scania’s products.

Your duties

In the role as Commodity Sourcing Manager Sheet Metal, you will work cross functionally within Scania and the Traton group to optimize the cost of sourced products and secure the right supplier base for your segment.

You will play a critical role in determining the overall segment strategy while leading the strategic development of your supplier base. You are responsible for creating structure within your portfolio and the best possible business for Scania in both the short term and the long term. You’ll be responsible for all commercial issues with regards to your suppliers and sourced material.

Your main tasks consist of developing the supplier base, ensuring delivery capacity, creating business plans, handling inquiries and negotiating new business, contracts and agreements with local and international partners.

Your profile

You are a team player, enjoy building relationships and are good at networking with people from various backgrounds. We expect you to be an engineer or business graduate with a few years working experience within a commercial role, preferably within purchasing or sales.

As the role involves a large international network and some travel, you are proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. Other language skills are an advantage.

Your team and manager

The team you will be working in consists of 5 other Commodity Managers who together with you create the overall strategy for the Sheet Metal segment. The team is diverse in its experience and composition, with a good culture of supporting each other and sharing knowledge. The Manager has been in the role a few years and is gearing the team up for the next phase of development to support Scania’s future growth.
