Communications Project Engineer

Job Summary As a member of the Communications Pilot team you are responsible for the successful execution of pilot projects in close collaboration with our customers. You will work directly with leading customers in the telecommunication industry on pilot projects to integrate The MathWorks tools into their design flows, while minimizing the risk to the customer. The dual goal of this effort is to help the customers improve their design processes and to help The MathWorks define future product directions and priorities. Responsibilities * Develop tailored solutions and prototypes for strategic customers using The MathWorks tools in signal processing and communications applications. * Capture customer requirements to help marketing and development teams define new products and enhancements to existing products. * Contribute to all aspects of the product development process, from writing functional specifications through to developing, debugging, and testing software. * Build application examples, with a focus on model-based design, fixed-point modeling, and automatic code generation. Qualifications Requirements: * M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering * At least 5 years industry experience designing or implementing signal processing algorithms in telecommunication systems * Candidate should be interested in working directly with customers to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems/projects * Strong skills in C programming Experience in the following areas is a plus: * Communications engineering * Embedded systems software engineering experience * Systems integration * Fixed-point design * Experience with HDL and FPGAs * Experience with TI Digital Signal Processors * C++ and object-oriented programming * MATLAB, Simulink, or Stateflow
