The Benify group includes financial operations through three regulated companies:

• the insurance distributor (försäkringsförmedlare) Lifeplan, which is Europe’s first, biggest and most sophisticated robot advisor for pension investment advice;
• the securities company (VP-bolag) Waizer, which main operations are to control Lifeplan which is operating as Waizer’s agent with advice on PPM and individual pension investment; and
• the payment institution (betalningsinstitut) Expenses Benify, which processes expense payments from Benify’s customers to suppliers included in Benify’s benefits platform.

Role and Skillset

As our new Compliance Lawyer, you will have a lot of freedom to shape and develop your role. You will be a key part of our legal team and our regulated entities where you will be responsible for our efforts within financial compliance. Since you will be the only compliance expert within the group, you will also have a strong voice in deciding the appropriate organization of Benify’s overall compliance strategy.

You will work closely with various stakeholders within the organization and support, guide, and educate them in all matters relating to compliance. Over time and provided sufficient time is at hand, you may also choose to partially gravitate towards general inhouse counsel tasks.

As you can tell from the above, the role and the responsibilities are wide and require a similarly broad skillset. In addition to a solid knowledge of financial regulation and practices, you need to have good organizational and communication skills to take initiative and carry them out from ideas to implementation, as well as the ability to work independently.

Basically, we are looking for a new financial compliance superstar, and although this job is much more about what you want to achieve and where you can go rather than what you have done, we believe that you have a law degree, are proficient in Swedish and have a few years of qualified financial compliance experience under your belt, most likely as a compliance consultant or from a law firm or financially regulated entity.

Practical Information
Start: As soon as possible, and hopefully no later than September 2020
Capacity: Full-time
Location: Stockholm or Gothenburg. Benify group’s HQ is located in Stockholm, but Lifeplan is located in Gothenburg, so this position can work out of both or either of the offices. This spring has once and for all shown that it is possible to work remotely, so that may be an option too.
